One year ago today, I had the honour of becoming Minister for Policing and Crime Prevention. It’s been a year of challenges and steadfast commitment to improving public safety. I’m grateful to the dedicated officers, staff, and community partners I’ve worked with along the way.
This week also marked one year of a Labour Government, this has been a year of progress, hope and change. We have achieved and delivered upon many of our key manifesto commitments, these include: delivering on our promise of 2 million more NHS appointments seven months early, ending bonuses for polluting Water Company bosses, beginning the rollout of Breakfast clubs in schools and Great British Energy. We have also achieved the fastest economic growth in the G7. These achievements were all made whilst we faced difficult economic and international conditions.
I look forward to what we will continue to achieve as we deliver on our Plan for Change.
