Statement on May 7 Local Election Results

Following the results of yesterday's local elections, I want to thank all those who voted Labour and all our excellent candidates and campaigners who fought our corner in challenging circumstances.

While these local election results are disappointing for the Labour Party in Hull, particularly with the loss of hardworking Labour councillors, I will continue to work constructively with Hull City Council and the Government in the months ahead to bring in investment, tackle the cost of living crisis and improve the life chances of all people in Hull.

We will reflect on these results and the wider lessons for Labour
