From today, the Labour Government is funding 30 hours of childcare, giving children the best start in life and saving families around £7,500 a year. This will also help parents balance work and family life, with many able to take on extra hours at work – good news for families and employers alike.
In Hull North and Cottingham, school-based nurseries have been expanded at Bricknell Primary School, St Anthony’s VC Academy, and St Mary Queen of Martyrs VC Academy. These nurseries will help children become familiar with a school environment from an early age while offering parents greater choice and flexibility.
And this is just the beginning. Through our Best Start campaign, Labour is building a strong foundation of support for families - with a new one-stop shop now available for parents to access childcare, advice, and services. Please this available here: Homepage | Best Start in Life
