Vote to give Hull Monopoly status

Diana Johnson MP

20/05/07, 00:00

Hull North MP Diana Johnson today urged local people to vote Hull onto the new Monopoly board.

The makers of the World-famous board game are producing a new UK version of Monopoly and are deciding what British towns and cities will feature on the board through an online public vote.

Votes for Hull can be recorded at http://www.monopoly.co.uk/vote.aspx.

With only a few days until polling closes on 25 May, 8,000 extra votes would get Hull into the top 22 and onto the Monopoly Board.

Diana Johnson MP said: "Anyone who wants to help shake off some of the negative, and often unfair, press of recent years should take five minutes to vote Hull onto the prestigious UK Monopoly Board.

"It would be a fun way to symbolise Hull's gradual emergence over the past decade as a regenerating and improving City. A late surge of support is all we need!"

Hull previously won over other cities to get its own version of Monopoly in 2004.
