Transport for the North concerns

I asked the Government if it is appropriate to appoint a former Tory MP, and current Lord, to Chair Transport for the North.

My fear is that this body will have no real power to improve the transport infrastructure in the North, having had its powers stripped back, and with previous recommendations made to Government ignored.
