Open surgery gets sporty

Save Our SportsDiana Johnson MP is holding another open surgery at Tesco Superstore, Hall Road, Hull from 10am to 12pm on Saturday 25 April 2009.

The Hull North MP will be available to hear from local residents about any of their concerns or views on topical issues.

For example, Diana would especially welcome individuals and representatives from sports groups in Hull that have been hit by Hull City Council's recent increases in charges.

Diana Johnson MP said: "The views of my constituents are important to me and open surgeries throughout the year provide an ideal opportunity to hear from local people about what's concerning them.

"I know that one important issue at the moment is the hike in various charges for Council-run sports facilities. These are causing severe difficulties for many longstanding sports clubs in Hull.

"I would be interested in speaking to anyone sports clubs or individual users of sports facilities - who has been affected by these increased charges."

Last week Labour launched Save Our Sports a protest against steep hikes in charges for Council sports facilities.
