Diana Johnson MP

15/01/07, 00:00

Hull North Diana Johnson MP tomorrow (Tuesday 16 January) leads a delegation of women entrepreneurs from the Humber area to meet DTI Minister Margaret Hodge MP.

The Minister will hear about the experiences of local women in business and commerce and what more central government can do to boost the involvement of women in enterprise.

The delegation of Humber women entrepreneurs will be headed by Maureen Foers OBE, Managing Director of Durban Ltd, a business development company from Hull.

Diana Johnson MP said: "Women entrepreneurs represent an underdeveloped source of economic growth, wealth creation and jobs for our country not least in the Hull and Humber area.

"It will be very useful for Margaret Hodge to hear directly from local women entrepreneurs about their different experiences as I know that the Government is always keen to find ways of advancing the cause of getting more women into enterprise."
