Hull North MP Diana Johnson has accepted an invitation to be one of the Yorkshire judges for ITV's Carer of the Year.
The four nominations shortlisted by Yorkshire selection panel, when they meet at Hull Carer's Centre on 16 August, will feature in short films to be shown on ITV. Then ITV viewers will choose one nominee to go forward as ITV Yorkshire's nomination to the nationally televised Pride of Britain Awards in October.
Diana Johnson MP said: "It is always a pleasure to assist in recognising the work of our army of carers the unsung heroes of our country.
"With thousands of people in Hull having caring duties, it would be great if someone from Hull went all the way to the Pride of Britain Awards to represent Yorkshire."
