Hull North MP and Labour Shadow Crime and Security Minister Diana Johnson has expressed concern about whether current anti-terror laws are "fit for purpose".

Speaking in Home Office Questions in the Commons, Diana Johnson MP said: "On this day, it is absolutely right that we remember those killed or injured on 7/7.

"On counter-terrorism work today, allegations are being reported that AY?previously on a control order and then a terrorism prevention and investigation measure order that lapsed?is now freely recruiting and radicalising young men to go to Iraq and Syria to fight for ISIS.

"Given the potential security threat of those men returning to the United Kingdom, does the Minister still believe that the TPIM orders that he introduced are fit for purpose?"
