This week I chaired the Home Affairs Select Committee evidence session, with a further hearing on police priorities.

With confidence in the police so shaken by recent events it was important to question what senior police staff are doing to rebuild trust, particular for women who will have understandable concerns about their interaction with officers.

We took evidence from Andy Cooke (His Majesty’s Chief Inspector), Harvi Khatkar (Chief Superintendent), and Steve Hartshorn (National Chair of the Police Federation).
