With political leaflets competing with pizza takeaway menus on Hull doormats, there’s no shortage of advice about who to vote for in today’s local and European elections.



Hull people will, of course, decide for themselves who to vote for and whether to vote at all.


But there’s more at stake than usual for us in Hull this time.

Hull North MP Diana Johnson has backed Labour plans for a better deal for those renting their homes privately.


One of the biggest causes of the cost of living crisis in our country is the price of renting or buying a home. That’s why a Labour government will make sure that Britain builds 200,000 more homes a year by the end of the next Parliament so that more families can fulfil their dream of home ownership.
