Women's rights in Afghanistan

Diana speaking in Parliament

Following the Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan in 2021 there has been an appalling degradation of women's rights in the country.

Recently The Taliban have been ordering shop keepers to decapitate mannequins or cover their faces. This is a reminder of the Taliban’s goal to even eradicate depictions of women.

In Parliament I urged the Government to ensure that women’s basic human rights in Afghanistan are upheld.
