I had the opportunity to visit St Nicolas, Brokenhurst where there are many NewZealand war graves.
According to the Commonwealth War Graves website, "The churchyard contains 106 graves of the First War, of which one hundred are in the New Zealand plot. In addition to the 93 New Zealand graves, there are also three Indian and three unidentified Belgian civilians (employed at the Sopley Forestry camp)."
I had the opportunity to see the maintenance and repair work being undertaken to keep the graves in good order. I saw amazing support from this community for New Zealanders buried so far from home.
