Salary: In line with IPSA pay scales, expected to be at the higher end of the range to reflect the level of experience required
Length of Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week (subject to a probationary period)

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to support Diana in her Parliamentary work including as Chair of the Home Affairs Select Committee and as a successful campaigning MP at Westminster.
Diana’s Parliamentary interests range from the contaminated blood scandal, improving access to women’s reproductive healthcare and the challenges of left behind communities in need of investment.
This is a demanding but rewarding role with an opportunity to make a real difference. The position requires a person who is highly organized and fully committed to providing support to Diana in a fast-moving working environment.
Consideration will be given to flexible working subject to negotiation.
This post is Westminster based with occasional trips to Hull.
Post requirements:
1. Excellent communication skills with the ability to quickly assimilate and present data and information
2. Strong understanding of Home Affairs issues and parliamentary procedure
3. Proven research skills with the ability to draft correspondence, speeches and parliamentary questions and to write succinctly and confidently
4. Have working knowledge of relevant legislation and upcoming Parliamentary business, including how they impact on the constituency
5. A self-starter with exceptional levels of organisation and the ability to work to tight deadlines
6. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
7. Candidates will be expected to be sympathetic to the aims and objectives of the Labour Party
Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
