Hull North MP slams Government delays on Hull rail electrification

Speaking in Prime Ministers Questions today, Hull North MP Diana Johnson challenged the Department of Transport over the years of delay to rail electrification between Selby and Hull.
Diana Johnson MP asked the Prime Minister: "When Hull was left out of the Government's plans for the rail electrification of the north, Hull businesses got together and produced a privately financed scheme to do the work for the city of culture 2017.
"It has been with the Department for Transport for two years. Does the Prime Minister think that the Department for Transport's attitude shows incompetence or indifference to the scheme that has been put forward with private money?"
