Your views on Brexit

Last night there was a vote in Parliament on leaving the European Union. I voted to give permission to the Prime Minister to trigger Article 50. The Prime Minister has said she will do this and start the formal process of leaving the EU – by the end of March. We will formally leave the EU in 2019.

I voted to trigger Article 50 because the national referendum decision was clear. Here in Hull it was even clearer - 62% of people in Hull North voted to leave. It's now time to get on with it.

But it's an understatement to say that it's complicated and the Government is currently trying to work out how best to implement the referendum decision.

I want to make sure the Government gets a Brexit deal which works for Hull. I want them to protect jobs in our renewables sector in Siemens, continue workplace employment rights and I also want them to deliver on their promises to give more money to our NHS. It's my job as your local MP to hold the Government to account.

Throughout this process, I want Hull’s voice to be heard so please comlete the survey below. It will only take a minute but will help me secure the best Brexit deal for Hull.

Many companies in Hull, like Siemens, want Britain to continue to be able to export to Europe for as low a cost as possible after Brexit. To do this they would like us to remain in both the “Single Market.” But agreeing this will make it much harder for us to restrict immigration and will still mean we have to agree to EU laws.
1 not very good and 5 excellent
